Privacy Policy

Short version: this is a personal portfolio. There are no cookies, no ads, no trackers, and no accounts. The first time you visit, I get a short email saying roughly where the visit came from, so I know someone looked. That's it.

What gets collected

When you open the site for the first time, your browser sends one small request to a server I run on Cloudflare Workers. From that request, I receive an email with:

Your approximate location (city, region, country), estimated from your IP address by Cloudflare
Your network provider (for example, a university or ISP name)
A masked IP address, with the last part hidden (like 203.0.113.•••)
Your browser, operating system, device type, language, and screen size
The page you landed on, the site that linked you here (if any), and the time

Your full IP address is never stored. To avoid emailing me twice about the same person, the server keeps a one-way hash of your IP address and browser details, along with the city, country, and date of the first visit.

What doesn't get collected

No cookies. Nothing that follows you to other sites.
No Google Analytics, ad pixels, or third-party trackers.
No names, emails, or anything you type. The site has no forms.

Your browser does save one small flag (np:seen) in local storage so it doesn't repeat the request on later visits. It never leaves your device, and clearing your browser data removes it.

Why

I like knowing when someone looks at my work, especially after I apply for a job or share a link. The data isn't sold, shared, or used for advertising, and I'm the only person who sees it.

Services involved

GitHub Pages hosts the site. GitHub may keep standard server logs; see GitHub's privacy statement.
Cloudflare Workers receives the one-time visit request.
Resend delivers the notification email to me.
Google Fonts serves the fonts, so your browser requests them from Google.

Opting out

Most ad blockers and privacy extensions block the visit request, and the site works exactly the same without it. If you'd like any record of your visit deleted, email me at nishantchaudhary0512@gmail.com and I'll remove it.

Changes

If this changes, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
